The Community Initiatives Fund was established by West Midlands Police Authority to provide financial assistance to community based initiatives in the West Midlands. These initiatives must contribute towards the objectives in the Authority's Policing Plan or in the local crime and disorder strategies. The principal aims of the Fund are to provide small grants to help projects succeed and encourage community contact with local neighbourhood officers.

Applying

Applications to the fund should show:

  • The project will help to improve community safety and increase reassurance
  • Is a response to an issue affecting the community
  • Effective management structures are in place
  • Has an appropriate clear plan and justification

Applications, once received, will be considered by the Police Authority and applicants will be informed of the decision within 4 weeks.
