The Community Initiatives Fund was established by West Midlands Police Authority to provide financial assistance to community based initiatives in the West Midlands. These initiatives must contribute towards the objectives in the Authority's Policing Plan or in the local crime and disorder strategies. The principal aim of the Fund is to provide small grants to help a project succeed.
For the year April 2008 to March 2009 the Authority has agreed that grants up to the maximum amount of £2000 will be given to initiatives which will improve community safety or provide reassurance. Applications should demonstrate that an initiative is based on a partnership involving the community, voluntary groups and/or statutory agencies and the police.
Applications will be considered at three Police Authority assessment meetings per year. These will be held during the last weeks of June and October 2008 and January 2009.
For more information and/or an application form, please contact the Police Authority support staff on 0121 626 5685.
