Recent reports to the Authority

The Authority holds the Chief Constable to account through its committee meeting structure. Each committee is responsible for scrutinising the efficiency and effectiveness of policing in the West Midlands. To inform decision making each committee commissions reports.

This section of the website provides a sample of recent reports that have been scrutinised by the Authority to inform its decision making in the area of equality, diversity and human rights.

  • Stop and account - This report provides details on the community engagement and consultation that has taken place around the decision to cease the recording of stop and account. (December 2011)
  • Thames Valley review into Project Champion - This report provides an update on the progress West Midlands Police Authority has made in addressing the recommendations and implications contained in the Thames Valley Review into Project Champion. (December 2011)
  • Policing criminal gangs report 2011 - This report aims to explain how the police are working with local people and other organisations to tackle urban street gangs in the West Midlands.
  • Police pension Regulation A19 - This report reviews the application of A19, to allow the Authority, to determine if the regulation should apply in 2012-13. (December 2011)
  • Hate crime update - This report provides an update on the force response to hate crime. (January 2012)
  • Police Authority consultation 2011-12 / Consultation Results 2011-2012 - This report update provides the outcomes of the consultation process undertaken by the Authority as part of the strategic planning process. (January 2012)
  • Feeling the Difference Wave 27-30 - This report presents the most recent findings from the Feeling the Difference (FTD) public perception survey (Waves 27 to 30) and discusses key findings alongside milestone measures, diversity, changes over time and the drivers to improve confidence. (January 2012).
