Performance and Operations Committee
If you would like to let us know your views which will help us in setting the policing priorities, please click below.
- To consider and monitor performance against the policing plan targets and any performance indicators set locally or by external organisations
- To receive information on performance against crime and community safety targets in other national and local plans, including at CDRP level
- To consider force performance in the context of performance of comparable forces or, where appropriate, other organisations
- Oversee the implementation of new developments locally and nationally in respect of performance issues
- To identify and consider any information needed to monitor force performance in respect of crime both for OCU and HQ based police activities
- To consider reports from external agencies, such as HMIC, external auditors and the Audit Commission
- To monitor force work in respect of major events and contingency planning and co-ordination
- To monitor force work in respect of specialist operational support and training
- To monitor force implementation and performance in respect of roads and airports policing
- To monitor work associated with forensic science support
- To monitor work associated with crime investigation, including specialist operational crime and community safety support
- To monitor force crime recording and case management
- To have due regard, in exercising its responsibilities, to equal opportunities generally and the requirements of all equalities and anti-discrimination legislation, including:
- implementation of the equalities schemes of both the Authority and force
- review and interrogation of performance data on diversity issues including:
- stop and search data
- hate crimes
- other areas of performance which have a specific impact on diversity issues
- To have due regard, in exercising its responsibilities, to equal opportunities generally and the requirements of all equalities and anti-discrimination legislation, including implementation of the equalities schemes of both the Authority and force
- To have due regard, in exercising its responsibilities, to risk issues generally and the specific risk issues contained within the force and Authority risk registers
- To consider any other matters deemed relevant to these terms of reference
