Standards Committee
If you would like to let us know your views which will help us in setting the policing priorities, please click below.
- To review and recommend changes to the adopted Code of Conduct and associated protocol for members and staff
- To promote high standards of conduct among Authority members
- To advise and train members of the Authority on matters relating to the Code of Conduct and associated policies and protocols
- To consider any allegations of misconduct made in relation to the Code of Conduct referred to the Committee by the Standards Board of England or any other matters referred to it by the Authority’s Monitoring Officer
- To determine any application for a dispensation under the Code of Conduct
- To prepare an annual report for consideration by the Authority
- To review compliance by members with the Code and other policies and procedures, such as the members’ allowance scheme
- To review the ‘whistle blowing’ policies and procedures of the Authority
- To have due regard, in exercising its responsibilities, to equal opportunities generally and the requirements of all equalities and anti-discrimination legislation, including implementation of the equalities schemes of both the Authority and force
- To have due regard, in exercising its responsibilities, to risk issues generally and the specific risk issues contained within the Authority’s risk register
- To consider any other matters deemed relevant to these terms of reference
Constitution – 5 members plus two members independent from the Authority. One of these two members to chair the Committee. Quorum 4
